Duke Sidus actually started as starduke.
Starduke was my AOL email. I used it for a lot of other stuff too.
Then I decided to change it to Duke Sidus. Sidus is Latin, it could mean either star or constellation.
I made Duke Sidus my mascot character. He was a green immortal space vampire.
He was actually the inspiration for Xeno’alis, yes, minor spoiler, he eventually becomes Duke Sidus.
As for the real world, Duke Sidus is my music artist name. You look up Duke Sidus on a few different music stores and social media apps, you’ll find my music. I’m also on YouTube under Duke Sidus, where I posted my music.
My headcanon is there’s a multiverse and every universe has a Duke Sidus… And in one of them he’s just a regular guy who’s a music artist, lol. Nobody special, not an immortal warrior like Xeno’alis.
I even started writing a sitcom where the Xeno’alis version of Duke Sidus got switched with a gamer Duke Sidus from a different universe like ours by an evil wizard. I might turn it into a book one day, who knows.
Duke Sidus also inspired my current author name Wolfeye Mox. English word plus Latin word. Wolfeye like Hawkeye from Marvel’s Avengers or MASH (not to mention Snake Eyes my favorite GI Joe) and Mox, which is Latin for next or soon.
I choose Mox as a promise to myself, that if I stuck it out in the creative career I’m working on, some day it’ll be my turn.
I’m no where near there, but my author name symbolizes my determination to keep going no matter what to have the successful creative career I long for.
I haven’t done a new song or album for Duke Sidus in years, I’ve focused on writing, not music. But part of me still itches to put out more music. It’s just that I get stats on listeners, I don’t get any, and it seems like I’m the only one who ever uses my music on social media. At least I have my own original music to put in my videos, lol.
Duke Sidus changed over time, growing from just a name to a character in his own right.
I’ve even started a webcomic about him, he’s a mask wearing Duke from the island of Sidus, hiding his true identity to protect himself and his people from the enemies who are after him. You can find the webcomic also on this website on a different page.
